Position Title: Temporary Senior Accountant
Location: Pretoria (Centurion and Roodeplaat)
Classification: Fixed term (1 December 2022 – 31 August 2023)

Position Purpose

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the timeous processing of the monthly figures and reporting thereon, leading the annual audit team and writing of all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) in regard to the Finance team.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Compilation of SOPs.
  • Reconciles financial data to maintain accurate account balances and ensure compliance with established accounting principles
  • Researches discrepancies and investigates questionable financial information and/ or documentation to ensure accuracy and adhere to established procedures before processing
  • Maintain accounting records adequately and perform/approve appropriate reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts and relevant income statement accounts.
  • Review of journals.
  • Completes month-end and year-end closings, completion of the monthly trial balance for financial reporting.
  • Complete reporting including analysis of financial information on a monthly basis.
  • Approving or preparing, reconciling, and payment of local and international payments
  • Preparation of the audit process (leading the team) and co-ordinating and assisting with the preparation of audit sampling packages for audits
  • Maintaining accounting controls by following policies and procedures, complying with financial and legal requirements
  • Liaise externally with auditors, SARS, and the Bank

Qualifications:
  • BCom and completed SAICA articles
Knowledge / Experience:
  • 3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Sage 300 (Accpac)
  • Writing of SOPs
Special working conditions:
  • Willing to work overtime and shifts when required to do so
