Position Purpose

The exciting and fulfilling role of the QA and H&S Technologist is to co-ordinate Deltamune’s Quality Assurance and Health and Safety protocols, procedures, performing validations and internal audits to ensure vaccines and other biological products are manufactured according to set standards. This position is also responsible for Environmental and Pest Control Compliance.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Prepare, plan, and conduct effective and efficient quality compliance internal/external audits according to Deltamune policy.
  • Monthly update on the internal/external audit reports and rescheduling of follow up audits.
  • Maintain Document Control for Deltamune Quality Management System.
  • Assist in planning and executing of Equipment Qualification, Process and Cleaning Validation activities in collaboration with equipment/process owners.
  • Review protocols and align with current guidelines for validation/ qualification.
  • Schedule biannual validation of key equipment and update specs accordingly.
  • Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance to satisfy the requirements of local legislation.
  • Co-ordinate the safety meetings and give feedback to management.
  • Identify safety training needs, organise and co-ordinate safety training courses and prepare training material where appropriate.
  • Co-ordinate evacuation exercises to ensure that all staff become familiar with these procedures.
  • Evaluate incident forms, surveys, audits to establish root causes.
  • Ensure all staff are issued with appropriate PPE and keep record.

Specifications

Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Degree in Veterinary Technology / Biotechnology / Food or Pharmaceutical Science or Microbiology.
  • Qualification in Health and Safety and/or ISO 9000/GMP advantageous
Knowledge / Experience:
  • Min 2 Year’s relevant QA experience (auditing preferred).
  • Health and Safety Experience.
  • Experience in cGMP or ISO manufacturing environment advantageous.
  • Knowledge of clean room environment practices and procedures.
Skills / Attributes / Competencies:
  • Results-orientation
  • Sound judgment
  • An understanding of cGMP guidelines and local standards
  • An ability to work well as part of a team or when working alone
  • Technical knowledge
  • Communication skills
  • Ability to plan prioritise and organise efficiently.
